Lisa Rogers from Greencastle, IN January's Remarkable Teacher Lisa teaches 8th grade Pre-Algebra and Algebra. She and her classroom love using the G1116-2x for graphing because Lisa is passionate about teaching math and wanting her students to have fun while learning math. Lisa writes, "[Markerboards] help students grasp the ideas much more quickly. Nothing beats having a student tell you they think graphing is fun!" Lisa is the Junior High Academic Math Coach. Her after school activities revolve around her own children where she has been a Cub Scout Den Leader and a member of the Optimist Soccer Board. Lisa also has a collection of markerboards at home for her children. Lisa's Teacher Tip: The response boards allow you to get immediate feedback concerning your student's level of understanding. Use them after introducing a new concept to check student's understanding. Also, pick a few problems from the assignment to do together. The students love to complete some of their assignment together in class using the markerboards. I keep the boards on a rack below each student's chair so that we can easily access the boards. We also use the boards for quick challenge problems at the end of class or for review games prior to a test. A special thank you to Lisa Rogers for being a Remarkable Teacher. |
